Competency-Based Instrument Rating (CB-IR)

We believe that holding your PPL is just the start. Use it as your jumping off point and become equipped with greater knowledge for even greater adventures.

Securing the CB-IR is a major flying milestone. When conditions outside make flying by visual reference alone unsafe, don’t be kept from the sky. Instead, turn to Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

This modular rating is in a league of its own, at least 80 hours of theory training to complete and seven exams to pass. But through it all you are never alone. We will help you keep your training on track.

Bring your previous hours of flight instrument know-how to us and we’ll calculate your credited hours and complete your pre-entry assessment flight. Costs vary greatly depending on prior experience.
